Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) set out the conditions for using the app “Oriruyo” (おりるよ, the “App”) provided by Oriruyo Operator (“we” or “us”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. About the App
The App is an aid that uses your location and notifications to let you know when you are getting close to a station you have chosen. For sections where your location can’t be found, it also has a backup timer that rings after the number of minutes you enter. The alert distance is a straight-line guide from the station; it is not the distance along the line or the time left until you arrive.
2. No guarantee of notifications
- The App does not guarantee that a notification will reach you, that it will ring at a particular moment, or that you will wake up.
- Underground lines and tunnels, your device’s battery saving, location permissions, the OS’s background limits, signal and location accuracy, and your device settings (silent mode, Focus, notification settings, etc.) can delay or block notifications, or stop them from making a sound.
- Closing the App or restarting your device can stop location monitoring. The backup timer does not adjust for train delays.
- For trips that matter, do not rely on the App alone; please set another alarm as well.
- Please stay aware of your surroundings when you look at or use the App, and do not use it in a way that puts you at risk when getting on or off a train or while walking.
3. Your data
- The App’s information is kept only on your device and is left out of device backups (see the Privacy Policy).
- Because of this, if you change phones or delete the App, your saved stations and other information do not carry over, and we cannot restore them.
4. Premium (one-time purchase)
- Premium is a one-time purchase that lets you save as many favorite stations as you like. The price is shown on the purchase screen.
- Everything to do with the alarm and its notifications can be used without Premium.
- Purchases, payments and refunds follow the rules of the App Store or Google Play.
- When you reinstall the App or change phones, use “Restore purchase” (購入を復元) in the App to bring back Premium bought with the same store account. Purchases cannot be moved between the App Store and Google Play.
- If Premium ends, for example because of a refund, your saved stations are not deleted. You choose 2 to use for free, and the others are locked.
- The features included in Premium may change.
5. Prohibited conduct
When using the App, you must not:
- Violate any law or public order and morals
- Modify or reverse-engineer the App
- Interfere with the operation of the App
6. Changes to or end of the App
We may change the App or stop providing it. If we stop providing it, we will announce it in advance in the App or on this website.
7. Disclaimer
- We do not guarantee that the App is free of defects or fits any particular purpose.
- We are not liable for a notification that is late, does not arrive or does not make a sound, or for missing your stop (oversleeping), being late, travel costs, changes to your plans or any other damages that result from it.
- Except in cases of our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of the App, unless such a limitation is not permitted by applicable law, including consumer protection laws.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms when necessary. Changes take effect when posted on this page. We will announce important changes in the App or on this website.
9. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The district court having jurisdiction over our location shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute relating to the App.

If these Terms differ from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
